Matt Ryan stars as John Constantine, a charismatic and morally challenged detective of the occult on NBC's drama "Constantine."[1]

Bio/Career[]

Ryan is a Welsh-born actor who, when he left drama school, walked straight into a lead role with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He spent three years performing in their productions of "Spanish Golden Age Season" and "Gunpowder Plot Season" working with such esteemed directors as Rupert Goold and Greg Doran.[1]

Soon after, he went on to another lead role at the Donmar Warehouse with world-renowned directors Michael Grandage and Peter Gill and starred opposite Luke Evans in the play "Small Change." He then continued his relationship with Grandage and played Horatio in "Hamlet" opposite Jude Law, which was then transferred to Broadway. In 2011, he appeared in "Flypaper" opposite Patrick Dempsey and Ashley Judd, as well as the TV series "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior."[1]

Most recently, he finished his run with the Michael Grandage Company and their production of "Henry V" playing Fluellen, also opposite Jude Law.[1]
